1. About Mingles
Mingles is a Korean and Asian singles community based in Sydney, Australia, built around in-person wine party events (held roughly every three weeks) and this companion website. The website lets people who have engaged with our events browse pre-verified member profiles, express interest, and message each other. By creating an account or using the website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You may hold only one account, and the information you provide (including your birth year, gender, occupation, and region) must be accurate. We may suspend or remove accounts that we reasonably believe are fake, duplicate, or misrepresenting the account holder.
3. Verification and Badges
Every guest at a Mingles event passes an occupation and identity check before attending. Profiles display a "Party Attendee" badge for members who have attended an event, or a "Verified" badge for members who passed our checks without yet attending. These badges are assigned only by Mingles administrators and reflect the outcome of our verification process at a point in time — they are not a guarantee of a member's current circumstances, intentions, or safety, and you should still exercise your own judgement, including when meeting anyone in person.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. For members whose profile was created by an administrator from our event attendee records, we will send a one-time link to set your own password and activate the account — this link expires and can only be used once.
5. Credits and Payment
Actions like expressing interest in a profile or starting a conversation cost credits, at rates shown in your dashboard. We do not currently process card payments: to buy credits, you transfer funds to our nominated bank account using your member reference, and an administrator manually confirms the transfer and adds the credits to your balance. Credits are not refundable except where required by law or at our discretion, have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and pricing may change at any time. We plan to support card payments in future; these terms will be updated accordingly.
6. Acceptable Use
When using Mingles you must not: harass, threaten, or abuse other members; impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation; use the platform to solicit money, sell products or services, or run any commercial activity unrelated to Mingles; post or send unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate content; or attempt to circumvent the credit system, verification process, or these Terms.
7. Content You Submit
You retain ownership of the profile information, photos, bio, and messages you submit. By submitting them, you grant Mingles a licence to store and display that content to other members in line with the visibility rules described in our Privacy Policy (for example, photos and your self-introduction are shown only to logged-in members). You are responsible for making sure you have the right to share anything you upload, including photos.
8. Moderation and Enforcement
We review reported content and, to keep the community safe, our administrators may access messages and profile activity for moderation purposes. We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate an account that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms, without a refund of unused credits in cases of serious or repeated breaches.
9. In-Person Events
Mingles wine party events are subject to their own event-specific terms and venue rules, communicated separately when you register to attend. We are not responsible for the conduct of other attendees at events or for interactions that occur outside the website, and we encourage you to take normal personal-safety precautions when meeting anyone from the platform.
10. Disclaimers
Mingles is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that you will form any particular connection, relationship, or match, and we do not guarantee the accuracy of information other members provide about themselves. Verification reduces but does not eliminate risk, and nothing on the platform is a substitute for your own judgement.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mingles is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the website or attendance at our events. Nothing in these Terms excludes any consumer guarantee or right under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example as we add features like card payments. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do; continuing to use Mingles after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
